About
A bit about me, my research and my background
I’m Keheliya Kudahewa, a physicist and researcher working at the intersection of biophysics and computational science. My primary interest is in understanding the physical behaviour of lipid bilayer membranes — the thin, flexible structures that form the boundary of every living cell.
I use a combination of molecular dynamics simulations, analytical theory and computational analysis to study how membranes bend, fluctuate and respond to their environment. I’m particularly interested in how lipid composition affects mechanical properties, phase behaviour and protein-membrane interactions.
Beyond research, I care deeply about physics education. I believe that clear, well-structured explanations can make even the most abstract ideas accessible. This site is my attempt to share what I learn with students, fellow researchers and anyone curious about the physics of life.
